The Blythbank Action Group (BBAG) was formed in Spring 2005 following a presentation by Glenrath Farms Ltd in Newlands Hall, the event having been arranged by Lamancha, Newlands and Kirkurd Community Council.  This presentation outlined the Company’s plans to expand its major egg productions currently based at the Whim, Easter Deans and the Millennium sites.  The new development, it was explained, would be situated on Blythbank - the land there (1250 hectares) having been acquired recently from the Roslin Institute.

The Group consists of a large number of local people concerned with the impact that this development would have on the beauty, enviroment and amenity of the local, and wider area.
